Description: Julian Williams went on his first trip to England with his mother in June 1946 when he was 9 years old. They took the ocean liner Mauretania to Liverpool. Julian and his mother stayed with his aunt and uncle, who had a store below the apartment. As this was right after WWII, Julian recalls a lot of war damage including destroyed churches and buildings. He and his mother stayed in Liverpool then went to Yorkshire.
