Description: Daniel Rapelye House - House at left background behind the barn, the house was on the south side of Poor Bowery Road, north of Northern Blvd. at about 89th Street (former 32nd St.), now the SE corner 32nd Avenue and 89th Street. The house right of center was also owned by the Rapelye Estate. Daniel Rapelye (Rapalje) b. 1699 on Flushing Bay Farm settled here in 1752 on a farm owned by Dow Ditmars Rapelye and d. 1776; 1852 David D. Rapelye (Rapalje); owned 1891 by D. Rapelye Estate, H. Gebhardt occupied 1896, and Witte occupied later. This photo was taken March 1923; the house was gone by May 1926.
