Description: The five letters in this collection are dated Jun 13,1894, Feb 21, 1895; Jan 8, 1902; Jun 12, 1903; and Feb 20, 1909. They are all addressed "To Whom It May Concern” and are from former employers of Mr. Pomas who are recommending him to new prospective ones. Mr. Pomas lost his various jobs because for one reason or another (“He leaves our employ owing to our discontinuing the use of Steam Power throughout our factory”), the companies were either going out of business or making other adjustments. Two companies were located in Manhattan, three in Brooklyn. One of the latter was known as Metropolitan, the name then being changed to East Williamsburgh.
