Description: Riker House at Bowery Bay - It was set back from the road on the south side of Old Bowery Bay Road, across from the Riker Rapelye-Lent House (which stands at 78-03 19th Avenue). The property was purchased in 1688 by Abraham Rycken who owned the adjacent farm, in 1717 his son built the small house which was part of this house that was owned by Jakobus Riker during the Revolutionary War; John L Riker in 1852, 1860; John L. Riker Estate in 1873, 1891; the house was destroyed by arson April 1938. Photo taken May 1923.
