Description: Flyer for the Que Mardi Gras Ball at Manhattan Center on 34th and 8th Avenue - This event was sponsored by the Omega Psi Phi fraternity, a national African-American fraternity, it was a battle of the bands with Jr. Walker and the All-Stars (hit song was "Shotgun") vs. Mongo Santamaria and His Band (hit song "Watermelon Man"). Two other bands played Tommy Vann and his professionals, and Bartlett's Contemporaries.
