Description: In this essay Amy Brook Snider (1940 - 2018) writes about growing up in a one bedroom apartment in Sunnyside on 45th Street between Skillman and 43rd Avenues with her parents Silas and Clara Snider (née Fox) and her younger sister Jenny. She describes life in a small space in the late 40's and early 50's, the ethnic make-up of the neighborhood, and going to school at P.S. 150. Amy was an instructor and administrator at Pratt Institute, and served as Chair of Art and Design Education, from 1980-2011.
