Description: Award winning table from the Furniture Design Unlimited Competition at the 1964 New York World's Fair, which was unveiled in the Baumritter Furniture exhibit in the Pavilion of American Interiors. Designed by Michael Wai-Kwok Young, a graduate in Industrial Design from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, the fully functional design consists of a table with a leather magazine pocket for storage purposes. Made of Brazilian rosewood veneers, the table deviated from traditional furniture design of the mid-20th century in rejecting the use of American walnut. The table is fully reversible, as it slides and tilts. A Rand-McNally globe accompanied the piece.
