(Benjamin Jaheel), 1832-1911DescriptionThese papers are primarily those of James Jaheel Brenton born January 20, 1806 and died August 13, 1881. There are also some papers of his son Benjamin Jaheel Brenton born February 5, 1832 and died February 10, 1911, as well as one or two other members of the family. The Brenton Family Papers is a very small group totaling only some 100 items. By and large they are the papers of James Jaheel Brenton, with perhaps only some dozen or so individual items being the papers of Benjamin Jaheel Brenton or other members of the family. Besides those items which can be termed "Personal Papers" there are several documents which apparently were once part of the official archives of the Village of Jamaica.Date1820-1911Geographic coverageJamaica (New York, N.Y.)Contents2 boxes, .7 cubic feet
