Description: Marion Duckworth Smith took this photo of her home, the Lent-Riker-Smith Homestead. It is the oldest private home in NYC dating back to 1654, a historical landmark on the National Register of Historic Places. The Rikers were early Dutch settlers and Riker's Island bears their name. Her property contains the original Riker farmhouse and the Riker burial ground where 132 Rikers and Riker descendants are buried.
