Description: Marion Duckworth Smith and husband, Michael Smith pose in the Gazebo which was custom built in 1993 for the occasion of their 10th wedding anniversary. Their home, the Lent-Riker-Smith Homestead, is the oldest private home in NYC dating back to 1654. It is a historical landmark on the National Register of Historic Places. The Rikers were early Dutch settlers and Riker's Island bears their name. Her property contains the original Riker farmhouse and the Riker burial ground where 132 Rikers and Riker descendants are buried.
