Description: James J. Corbett Residence, Bayside, Long Island. James J. "Gentleman Jim" Corbett was the world heavyweight boxing champion from 1892 to 1897. After retiring from boxing, he acted in both the theatre and movies, and was a popular figure around Bayside, where he lived from 1902 until his death in 1933. The street on which his home still stands was renamed Corbett Road in his honor.
