Description: Mrs. William J. Murray and her son William Jr. are in the carriage parked in front of the William Manice mansion, a gray Tudor-Gothic building facing Hempstead Turnpike. Its builder, construction date, and early history is unknown. It was purchased about 1800 by members of the Manice family, and the property was acquired by the old Westchester Racing Association in the early 1900s. It was demolished sometime after 1956 and the site is now part of Belmont Park. See records wjm-000293 and wjm-000294 for other views of the house.
