Description: A view looking north on Ocean Avenue (now South Ocean Avenue) at Roe's Block shows the intersection of Church Street at the far left. Storefronts seen at right include Eugene P. Smith's drugstore at number 55 (distinguished by a dark oval sign hanging above the sidewalk), and the establishment of M.H. Woodhull, a jeweler and optician, at number 59 (distinguished by the clock face over the sidewalk at far right.) In the center background can be seen the distinctive tower of Swezey's Department Store at 225 West Main Street, which closed in 2003. That building was demolished in 2012.; handwritten on reverse of glass plate: OCEAN AVE. PATCHOGUE N.Y.
