Description: William Gibson, a developer who built hundreds of houses in Valley Stream in the 1920s and 1930s, negotiated for years with the Long Island Rail Road to establish a station in his Gibson housing development, about a mile from the existing Valley Stream station on Sunrise Highway. The LIRR finally agreed, providing Gibson would erect his own station. This he did, and the building was opened May 29, 1929. This view looks north, towards the grade-level crossing. The print is embossed in the lower left-hand corner with the name "Max Hubacher".
