Theodore Rogers (Oct 10, 1831-Nov 7, 1903) was born in Jamaica the son of Alexander Rogers and Elizabeth Platt. He entered the banking field in 1849 when he was first employed by the American Exchange Bank. Subsequently, he entered the employment of some other banks, culminating in his appointment first as cashier of the Bank of the Metropolis in Manhattan, and later in 1894 succeeding Robert Schell as president of the same bank. He apparently held this position till his death. Mr. Rogers was active in several clubs, and apparently was an active sportsman, also engaging in duck shooting on some property of his in North Carolina. It is known that he had at least one older sister named Marietta Rogers. In June of 1838 she married John Talman Waters of Jamaica.
