Description: Ms. Tirado states that in New York, there are some streets that were never mapped. These were private blocks. Her street used to be a private block for the ambassador to Spain. They owned the land, then it sold, and several houses were moved. The city enforced eminent domain and took over. They had to fight to get on the street on the map, get the city to start cleaning the street, and even pave it. The city also decided to fix a bump on the street, which brought flooding.
