Description: The Eugene Armbruster Drawings and Photographs (6,950 photographs and drawings, ca. 1895-1936) consist of Mr. Armbruster’s photographs and drawings of Long Island’s historic buildings (house, churches, government buildings, etc.), roads, neighborhoods and villages in the form of nitrate negatives, photographic prints and pencil and ink drawings. No one area predominates but Amagansett, Astoria, Bridgehampton, Brooklyn, Brooklyn Heights, Bushwick, Coney Island, Corona, East New York, Easthampton, Elmhurst, Flatbush, Flatlands, Flushing, Forest Hills, Gravesend, Hempstead, Jackson Heights, Jamaica, Jericho, Long Island City, Maspeth, Middle Village, Montauk, Oyster Bay, Queens Village, Rego Park, Ridgewood, South Ozone Park, Southampton and Williamsburgh are well documented.
