Description: Built by sea captain John Aspinwall in 1762, the home was used as headquarters for British officers during the American revolution, and as a station on the Underground Railroad during the Civil War. A secret tunnel connected the property with the Bowne house just a few blocks away. It was demolished in the early 1950s.
