Description: Natalia Paruz was born in Israel and traveled a lot when she was young with her concert pianist mother and scientist father. She talks about how she came to play the musical saw, and her "quest for the ultimate-sounding saw." She did not know many people when she first moved to Astoria, but attended an event hosted by the Greater Astoria Historical Society and realized how much was going on in the neighborhood, so she started making friends. Natalia established the NYC Musical Saw Festival in Astoria. She talks about the experience of busking on the NYC subway, and how the police are more busker-friendly in Manhattan than in Queens.
