Description: Melissa Rivera was born in US to Puerto Rican parents. She started working at the age of thirteen in shops and the cinema along Steinway Street. She now works in child welfare – previously directly with foster kids, now training people who work with them. Melissa talks about running her own soap-making business alongside her job and looking after her 8 year old son Juan as a single mom.
