Description: Holland station and pier. The Holland section of the Rockaways went from Beach 88th to Beach 100th Streets, and was named after the Holland family which ran a hotel there. When the railroad extended down the peninsula in 1872 the area was sometimes called Holland Station.; Address, postmark, stamp and inscription on verso. Text addressed to Clinton E. Sherwood, reading: Dear Clinton and Mabel just received Norma's Post Card, just after I sent hers. Well my … is drawing to a close and I expected to come home tomorrow but Gramma wanted me to wait until after labor day so will up on boat Tuesday.... Let mama to put hors in stable at ... Things are rather quiet here now Mabel .... will commence school on Tuesday for another year, well another year will soon pass off, well good bye for this time will see you all soon. from Papp
