Description: Jacob Riis Park in Neponsit, Rockaway. Riis Park was named for social reform journalist Jacob Riis, who advocated for the creation of the park. The Art Deco bathhouse opened in 1932, and was designed by John L. Plock. The pavilion accommodated 8,000 beachgoers and contained a cafeteria on the ground floor and on the second floor. Robert Moses began renovations of the bathhouse in 1934, and changed much of the original design.; Address, postmark, stamp and inscription on verso. Text addressed to Miss Vic. Price, reads: Hello Vic, Having a nice time. You can .. A coat out here. Hope its warm in the city, say hello to Grace for me and Mr. Scheuer, remind him to take back my dress. See you soon, Nettie
