Description: De La Corte Inn (Della Corte Inn) - Nearest building at left is Della Corte Inn, built 1883 on the eastside of Colonial Ave. (Formerly Old Mill Rd. and north Hempstead Turnpike) between Waldron St. and Van Doren St. (part of the Long Island Expressway interchange today). The line of utility poles visible from the center to the right of the photo marks Strong's Causeway. Note the mountains of trash and garbage.
