Guide to the Joanna Smith Estate Papers 1890-1893 Control # S-20

Description: The approximately twenty documents in this collection were the result of this administration by Mr. Denton. Among them is a lengthy 16 page financial statement submitted by Denton indicating in detail the extent of the estate (dated Feb 1, 1890. Many of the other documents are receipts signed by recipients of various shares of the estate (dated 1893). There are also one or two bills submitted to the estate for village and school tax (dated 1891 - 1892 all mentioning estate of Benjamin E, Smith (probably Joanna's husband who preceded her in death)o Also found is a rather lengthy "Account of Sale" performed by auctioneer T.F. Archer in which are listed the various effects of Mrs. Smith (dated Feb. l893). The rest of the documents appear to be probably rough notes, perhaps part of the Sale account.
