Description: Drawing of the Payntar house.; hand written on back of print: stood on a triangular plot between Skillman Ave Jackson Av + the north shore RR tracks Was built about 1700 by one of the Broucards passed then to the Ryersons, then to the Larramores Sacked by the hessians after the flight of the owner to Staten Island the grist mill standing nearby was occupied by the British troops during the Revolution William Paynter purchased 1831 from peter Larramore a large track of land including the family homestead (view) He resided there until his death at 84 His son William Payntar Jr was born at Ravenswood about 1788 + served in the war of 1812. He died 1865. Geo H Payntar his son was born at the old homestead -1834. He married Irene N Markle at Flushing + had four children Taken down 1912 Wm Abm Payntar 1852 S Parntar 1860 Geo H Payntar 1902 LIC 1902
