Description: The earliest dated document in the collection bears the date 1713/14, while the latest is dated 1849. The majority, however, fall into the period of about 1790 to 1840. In a very few instances (most notably with some deeds or papers of a legal nature) some documents are contemporary copies of originals. Many of them in rather poor condition. They have been divided into the following four series: Letters Received, Financial Papers, Real Estate Deeds and Related Land Papers and Miscellaneous Papers.
