Description: August J. Bruhn's Roadhouse - The building was located on the north side of Grand Avenue between 74th Street and the New York Connecting Railroad. The roadhouse (also known as Washington Park or Seitz Park) was one of the many picnic parks and beer gardens that became popular in the late 1800’s for the immigrant residents of the areas of Ridgewood and Maspeth, and were conveniently located on transportation routes along Metropolitan, Flushing and Grand Avenues.
